Price Transparency

Kate Dishman Rehab Hospital is committed to fulfilling its mission of restoring the quality of life to our patients and families.  We want to help you understand and prepare for potential costs related to services you or your loved one may receive at Kate Dishman.

Our hospital has provided a complete list of charges for services and items provided by our facility. The amount listed does not necessarily reflect your actual financial responsibility. Payments made to our hospital can be adjusted for a number of reasons, including discounts negotiated with individuals or groups like Medicare, and insurance companies. Some payers reimburse based on a negotiated daily rate (per diem), or will pay based on a case specific basis (per discharge) rate, also referred to as a “Case Mix Group (CMG).”  For these payment types, specific procedures and tests, etc. are generally “carved out,” or paid separately by the facility.  These services may also be billed by a different provider.  Examples of these additional services may include but are not limited to

  • Special equipment
  • High cost pharmacy items
  • Dialysis treatments
  • High cost diagnostic services such as a CT Scan or MRI

In other words, all the relevant services are grouped together and paid as a bundled payment.  We will not require payment above and beyond those outlined in your individual health plans, such as co-pays, co-insurance or deductibles.

If you are insured, you should contact your insurer before treatment if possible to understand your coverage.

    Request an Estimate

It is important to us that our patients understand their potential healthcare services financial responsibility prior to the services being performed.  While it is very difficult to determine an exact cost of care, we will make every attempt to provide as much information as possible based on the details related to each individual case.  We strive to contact our patients a minimum of 24 hours prior to services. If you should need to discuss your financial responsibility earlier, please contact our Billing Department at billing@katedishmanrehab.com or 409.236.8222 to receive more information.

Disclaimer: Each person’s health needs vary, the price given is only an estimate and will depend on the individual’s specific situation. All professional charges (i.e., radiologists; anesthesiologists; and pathologists) are billed separately and are not included in this estimate.

    When is Payment Due

Under ordinary circumstances, we will not apply a balance due to any account until payment is settled through your specific carrier.  In cases where patients choose to self-pay, terms of those agreements will be personalized and some portion of the estimated charges may be required prior to admission into the facility.  However, terms of individual agreements will vary.  Related patient payments will be due and payable in accordance with the terms contained in corresponding agreements.

** Please keep in mind that physician services are not included and are billed separately by each individual physician and paid separately by the managed care plans.  The information provided here does not apply to physician services.

    Shoppable Services

We understand that patients and families may find it difficult to navigate insurance and calculate healthcare costs.  We will provide patients the information necessary to make educated and informed choices about their care and to minimize billing confusion.

In compliance with the Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services (CMS) guidelines, Kate Dishman will upon request make available a comprehensive list of shoppable services. However, while our billing will itemize individual services, we are either reimbursed based on a daily rate or bundled payment. Patient responsibility will not exceed what is outlined in your individual policy or what is negotiated in single case agreements.

The information provided are estimates only and are not a guarantee of insurance payment or benefits. Many factors will contribute to your financial obligation regarding your stay, including deductibles, copay, coinsurance, and out-of-pocket maximums.  However, we will not require payment above and beyond those outlined in your individual health plan. To prepare for an upcoming visit, we encourage you to contact your insurance provider.   We will gladly answer other questions about your financial responsibility, so please contact us if you have questions.
