COMPREHENSIVE MEDICAL REHABILITATION

Inpatient rehabilitation care is also known as hospital-level, or acute rehabilitation care. This sophisticated level of care is not available in other settings, such as nursing homes, Long Term Acute Care (L TAC) facilities, skilled nursing facilities, assisted living centers or extended care centers. At Kate Dishman we specialize in recovery from brain injury, neurological disorders, orthopedic conditions, spinal cord injury, and stroke. To find out more visit our Qualifying Diagnoses page.

Our partnership with Beaumont Bone and Joint and Christus St. Elizabeth Hospital enables us to provide a continuity of care not seen with anyone else in the SE Texas area. Our Interdisciplinary, collaborative team approach helps to achieve optimal levels of function and independence. Our commitment is to restoring quality of life by providing specialized medical management, nursing and therapy services in individual and group settings. As the regional leader in rehabilitation expertise, we foster a culture of excellence through the broad network of highly skilled independent private practice physicians, nurses and therapists. Therapists work on movement, coordination, transfer skills, speech, language and swallowing, and individualized training is provided to prepare patients, families and caregivers for additional responsibilities upon discharge. This individualized, comprehensive treatment program with daily visits by a rehabilitation physician (most often a physiatrist), coupled with weekly team conference is designed to meet the specific needs of each patient. Rehabilitation is covered in full or part by most health insurance plans, including Medicare. The hospital is in network with most major insurance companies and is willing to negotiate with other companies as needed.
